Lanolin Alcohols are the unsaponifiable fraction of anhydrous lanolin. Lanolin alcohols are complex mixtures of cholesterol, lanosterol, agnosterol and their di-hydro derivatives, plus straight chain and branched chain aliphatic alcohols with a mean molecular weight of approximately 370.

Application:
Lanolin Alcohol Cosmetic Grade can be used for the same application as LANOWAX EP. Its emulsifying properties can be increased by the addition of cetyl alcohol, beeswax or lanolin (de-oiled). These mixtures are the basis of ointments with an remarkably good colour characteristic. Lanolin Alcohol Cosmetic Grade can be used in small quantities as a thickening agent in shampoos and bath gels.
